Nashville Humane Association

I spend a lot of time volunteering at the animal shelter because, let's face it, dogs are amazing, but I wanted to do more than just enrichment and dog walking. This led to creating designs for the shelter. I designed new volunteer shirts, kennel signage and stickers.

The shelter launched a merchandise collection on being humane. They wanted to focus on the word humane and let the viewer interpret it in their own way. It didn't have to be just about animals. I created two stickers for the collection. The first sticker is a play on the 1993 song by Cypress Hill. The idea is that the sticker would be nostalgic for those familiar with the song, but still fun for those who aren't. The second sticker was designed by replacing the A with a heart. It's a straight forward message about being humane.

One of the biggest challenges at the shelter was keeping visitors out of the kennels for the safety of the animals. I used the shelter's existing brand to create eye catching signage that would deter the visitor from entering the kennel, while maintaining the shelter's welcoming atmosphere. Door hangers were designed for the larger kennels and small signs were created for the smaller kennels.
